We left very early Enfield and took the train to Washington. After 6 hours ride we arrived in the City which is full of police.... we wonder why... ;-)
Tonight we had a very special event. We got free tickets for the basket ball game of the Washington Wizards. We met Andrea Butler, the wife of Caron Butler at the airport last week and she arranged all for us. Thanks Andrea. The game was fun even if they lost. After the game we had the possibility to meet the team but they weren't in the best mood to come out. Too bad.

Am Abend haben wir ein Basketballspiel der Washington Wizards im Verizon Center gesehen. Wir hatten letzte Woche eine der Spielerfrauen am Flughafen kennengelernt und die hat es fuer uns arrangiert. Super. Wir haetten die Spieler noch nach dem Spiel treffen koennen, aber da sie leider knapp verloren haben, waren sie nicht wirklich in der Stimmung.

Nous avons des invitations pour le match de Basket NBA Wizard - Bucks offertes par Madame Butler femme du Joueur Caron Butler. Nous l'avions rencontree la semaine passee a l'aeroport...
Ambiance bon enfant, bon match mais defaites des locaux.
Nous avions encore un pass pour rencontrer les joueurs mais ils n'etaient pas d'humeur a se montrer...

Wow, das wäre das absolute Highlight für David gewesen. Er liebt Basketball und kennt alle Spieler und ihre Teams. Als ich ihm euer tolles Erlebnis erzählte war er hin und weg. Wie habt ihr Andrea kennengelernt????? Falls ihr ein Autogramm zuviel habt .... ihr kennt unsere Adresse :-)

ReplyDeleteI see you took the same train ride Obama is going to take to his inauguration. Security was not too happy about this plan but Obama wanted to do train stop speeches along the way.
It is going to be interesting with the inauguration. They have been bringing Police from all over. Last I heard they have brought in 45,000 police officers. On that day they are going to close the bridges and many roads. Only way in is public transportation or walk. It will be interesting to look at the mall that is 3km by .5km and think of 3 to 5 million people being there. 1 million people is something the park service is used to handling but the 3 to 5 million is off the map. We hope all will be safe.
People of America are very excited about our new president. One that was actually elected by the people.
