From the warm to the cold

Yesterday we spend the day still in New Orleans. After a long morning with packing the luggage into the 4 suitcases and 3 bags we went to see the river walk. We took a little street train to the French market and wanted to visit a convert in the french quarter, but it was not open. So we just walked around. We have to admire that we were a little bit tired. In the evening the plane left for Hartford, Connecticut, where we arrived by midnight. Christine's cousin Christa and Gary live here. The trip and the change planes in Washington gave two of our suitcases the rest. Now we need to go shopping for new ones. Thanks United Airlines.
Today we had a "hang out" day with nice conversations around the table with Christa and Gary. We are all recovering from the late trip and used the day do a walk in the snow, watch a movie and do laundry. So there are no new pictures for today.

Gestern haben wir den Tag noch in New Orleans verbracht. Nachdem wir alle 4 Koffer und 3 Taschen fertig gepackt haben, sind wir zum Riverwalk gegangen und sind anschliessend mit einer Strassenbahn zum anderen Ender des French Quarter gefahren. Dort wollten wir ein altes Kloster besichtigen, aber es war geschlossen. Wir sind dann einfach nur durch die Strassen geschlendert und muessen gestehen, dass wir etwas muede waren. Am spaeten Nachmittag sind wir nach Hartford, Connecticut geflogen. Dort wohnen Gary und Christa, Christines Cousine. Leider haben zwei Koffer die Reise nicht ganz ueberlebt. Danke United Airlines.
Heute haben wir nicht wirklich etwas gemacht. es gab nette Gespraeche am Tisch, etwas fernsehen und Waesche waschen. Die Kinder sind draussen im Schnee spielen gegangen. Heute gibt es leider keine Bilder.

Nous n'avons rien envoye hier car nous etions dans l'avion. J'espere que cela n'a pas ete trop dur de passer une journee sans notre blog. ;-)
Nous avons passe une derniere demie-journee a la Nouvelle Orleans a trainer dans les rues. Nous avions marche sur le Riverwalk, fais un tour de tramway avant de retourner a l'hotel pour attendre notre taxi.
Pas simple d'etre en route avec les bagages pour trois semaines et pour les premiers jours en Allemagne...
Nous prenons l'avions pour le Connecticut et arrivons tres tard a destination.
La journee suivante (Mercredi 6) nous profitons d'etre chez la cousine de mon beau pere pour nous reposer. C'est bon de se poser enfin un peu.
Dans les prochain jours, nous voulons faire Boston, New York en Washington...
