Today was a kind of strange day.A lot of driving. I assume it has to be so when you ride in Texas in the middle of a lot of nothing.
We make a stop in Fredericksburg a small town (around 9000 people) created in 1946 from german emigrants. You can still find store with german name like "Gasthaus". The town is a kind of nice but a bit "dusty"...
A bit later, we arrived in San Antonio. And then I realize that we have December 31st and that we are in the city of the Spurs (Hello sport friends) where play Tony Parker...Never mind...!
We went downtown for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and took a walk along the riverwalk. We saw the beginning of 2009 on TV from Time square... isn't that crazy... :-)

Wir hatten wohl den Tag mit der laengsten Autofahrt und das durch Texas, wo die Landschaft alle 100 milen wechselt. Wir haben einen Stop in Fredericksburg gemacht, eine Stadt die vor langer Zeit von Deutschen gegruendet wurde. Hm, so sieht es allerdings immernoch dort auf, sogar die Schaufenster.
Unser Sylversterdinner haben wir im Hard rock Cafe in San Antonio auf dem Riverwalk gemacht und dann die Mitternacht auf Timesquare in NY gesehen.
Wir wuenschen allen ein gutes Neues Jahr und dass wir uns bald wiedersehen, irgenwo auf dieser Welt :-).
